LIBS for the detection of tire tread particles – new publication of our team

A few members of our team, under the aegis of Brno University of Technology (BUT) and Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC), in cooperation with Masaryk University (MU), have been working on the study of the potential of laser induced breakdown spectroscopy for detection of tire tread particles. The outcome of their effort you can find on the link below. The paper deals with initial problems such as optimization. In future this research is supposed to lead to the development of a device which is capable of automatic identification of braking tracks (transported to a laboratory or directly on a road surface) and, based on the respective data, determination of, for example, the initial speed and position of a vehicle.
