AtomTrace Returns to Zambia: Advancing LIBS Applications in Mining and Geology

Following a successful exploratory mission to Zambia in 2023, AtomTrace is heading back to Lusaka. This upcoming mission, supported by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Czech Embassy in Lusaka, aims to deepen our partnership with the Geological Survey Department under the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development of Zambia.

AtomTrace’s primary focus is the application of our LIBS technology in mining and geological exploration. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the PanAfGeo project, a pan-African program co-funded by the European Union and a consortium of European geological surveys, which supports the training of geoscientific staff from African Geological Surveys through various innovative methods. We’re honored to be invited to join the PanAfGeo meeting, bringing together experts and institutions focused on advancing geosciences across Africa.

The mission will align with a Czech delegation visit, including Deputy Prime Ministers Marian Jurečka and Vlastimil Válek, underscoring the importance of Czech-Zambian cooperation in science, technology, and sustainable development.

We look forward to sharing more about our progress and the outcomes of this mission.
